At One Green Tree Finance, our story is one of passion and purpose. We do things differently to benefit both our clients and the communities in which they live.
But it all starts with my own story.
My name is Alison Darling, and I’m the founder and lead mortgage broker for One Green Tree. My fifteen-year journey in the financial world has taken me through various roles, most recently at Macquarie Bank where I was responsible for managing relationships with hundreds of brokers in the Northern NSW Region.
During this time, I saw firsthand the lack of genuine commitment from major banks towards environmental stewardship. At this point, the seed for One Green Tree was planted in my mind.
After embarking on somewhat of a soul-searching adventure across the country with my husband and young family, my vision crystallised. One Green Tree Finance was more than just a business idea; it was a calling to merge my financial expertise with environmental advocacy to make an impact in my little corner of the universe.
Of course, the concept was not without its challenges. I grappled with the question of how I could make this impact whilst ensuring clients were still provided with the best possible loans. After all, everyone seeks competitive loan rates and features, and would rightly expect me to provide options from a wide spectrum of lenders. The answer lay in providing transparent information regarding all relevant lenders, and ultimately leave the choice to each client.
